Hello Excel Forum,
Hope all is well.
I am looking for a SUMPRODUCT formula (or a better formula if you can think of it) to give me the sum based on certain criteria. I have an attachment to follow along with... but what I am looking to do is the following:
I have dates in column A, and in column B I would like to obtain the SUM of certain Fruits and their Values, based on a certain date, but only if the Fruit is found in the listing in another column. So in my attached example, I am looking for a formula in the green cells (column B) and I would like them to say: Ok... look in column H (raw data)... if the Fruit listed in Column D is found in column H... SUM it but ONLY if it is on the given date... So in B2 I should receive the total $$ value (column I) for only Apples and Oranges (column D) that have matching dates in column G. So in B2 I should have only 10/1/2015 Apple and Orange $$ values... The end goal is for me to be able to delete a fruit option in column D, and have the formula in column B to auto update.
I am essentially trying to do a SUMIFS... with two different criteria, but I want one of the criteria to be variable... based on a list. So if the list changes, you don't have to change each SUMIFS reference.
Been trying to figure this out for SOOOOO long... So if you can help me out with this one.. you will be a savior!
Thanks in advance for your help!
