I am using a spreadsheet created by a former employee where I work to keep track of employee hours. Unfortunately, columns x and y do not calculate correctly if 40 hours are not worked. I'm not sure how to correct the formula.

If I think I know what you're trying to do. . . Try this in X9 =IF(SUM(B9+E9+H9+K9+N9+Q9+T9)>40,40,SUM(B9+E9+H9+K9+N9+Q9+T9))

Pete,
Thank you. That worked. Do you have any suggests for column Y?
If you noticed cell Y11 should not have any O/T.
Place this in Col. Y and copy down. =IF(SUM(B9+E9+H9+K9+N9+Q9+T9)<40.5,0,SUM(B9+E9+H9+K9+N9+Q9+T9-40))
Cheerio.
Pete
