I need to lookup info on 1 spreadsheet and if criteria is met paste on another spreadsheet

    Manning new1.xlsx
When holidays are entered into tab 'Holidays' I need the corresponding name to be entered into the relevant date on tab 'Manning'.
I have come to a point where I am now stuck as what else to do to make it work.
The formula that I have already in 'Manning' is probably wrong altogether.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Repost your sample sheet show an expected end result and highlight that in YELLOW, it's hard to figure out by looking at a sheet without a required result

Here is an array formula (activated with Ctrl+Shift+Enter) that will work provided a couple of changes are made to your worksheet:

One change that will not be noticeable will be to to change the numbers across row 2 of the "Holidays" sheet to actual dates (just type 1/1/16 in F2 and drag across), then change the format to custom and type the letter "d" in the "Type" box. The second change will be noticeable, in row 1 of the "Manning" sheet select the entire row, click on "Merge and Center" to deselect, select Find & Replace > Go To Special > Blanks, then press "=" + "left arrow" + "Enter". At this point there should be a date at the top of each column. The formula can now be pasted into Manning!A3 ,activated as described above, then dragged all the way across and then down. Here is a copy of your file with the changes and formula applied:
    Copy of Manning new1.xlsx
Notice that filling the formula into the spreadsheet does remove the formatting for the weekends, however that can be replaced.
Let me know if you have any questions.
