Unhappy Vlookup (merged Column A, with multiple rows) only need the last row before next ref num

    Hi All

Our wonderful it dept decided to ensure reports come out with merged rows in column A instead of adding extra columns for additional data

I need to be able to add this information into a data dump i complete each morning

We assign jobs to multiple engineers - but i only need to return the most recent engineer assigned to a job number (unfortunately the export does not contain an assigned date/time for the engineer/Subcontractor) but the system does export into a spreadsheet in row order with the Rows in column A Merged.

the second complication is that there are some jobs assigned to 3/4 engineers or subbys and others will only have 1, so there is not a pattern to this data

Please see attached screenshot - the items in green are the ones i need to return based on the value in column A

Vlookup based on column A to return a result in the last column before the next Value in column A

Hope this makes sense, any help would be much appreciated!! as i have a difficult client on one side and limited export ability on our system
