    Formula needed to total daily work hours and hours per week

    I have a workbook that I calculate my hours worked on a daily basis. I would like to sum up my hours works on a daily basis and also per week so I can verify that my day totals up to 8 and my weekly hours total to 40. My work hours are recorded on 6 different worksheets and I can have multiple records recorded for each day because my hours are documented on how long a worked on different tasks during the work day.

    You probably should explain your workbook and what you need help with more. Like identify the cells, that contain ("my hours works on a daily basis"). You also have many sheets, so it would help to identify the sheet you need help with.

    Thank you that does get me close, but I don't think my hours are being calculated correctly.

    In my time log workbook I have 8 worksheets that I use to record time worked on tasks for different organizations (County Work Log, Chaska Work Log, Waconia Work Log, NYA Work Log, Victoria Work Log, Watertown Work Log, Shared Hours Log, and Sic-Vac Log). In each worksheet Column A records the date, Column B records the hours, and Column C records what Quarter the date falls in and Column D would record the task I performed, however I removed this data for privacy. I use the Quarter total for reporting purposes that I removed for privacy. For each day I can have multiple tasks, so the date would be listed more than once, and I can also work on tasks for different organizations, so the same date could be on multiple worksheets.

    On a new worksheet I would like to total the hours for each work week in 2016 to verify that I have recorded my hours correctly to total 40. So I would have to use all 8 worksheets and select a date range and pull the work hours from that date range. I could also calculate a daily total of hours, but my goal would be to calculate a weekly total of hours.

    Sorry amkampbell, I did make some mistakes in there. When I copied the formula and changed the sheet names I only changed it once instead of twice, so it was always adding hours from the country sheet.

    I've added the other sheets into the formula now, plus copied it down for the entire year.
    Just change the year in cell B2 and the dates and figures will update automatically.

    I also added a grid showing the quarter and yearly totals as well as Work type totals.

    Hope I have it right this time.
