Count and order

If I want to achieve the following:
In column 2, it is first time Jan appears, so it gives the number 1.
In column 3, it is second time Jan appears, so it gives the number 2.
In column 6, it is third time Jan appears, so it gives the number 3.
In column 4, it is first time Feb appears, so it gives the number 1.
In column 7, it is second time Feb appears, so it gives the number 2.
and so on...
which formula should I use in column C to achieve the above automatically?
