Hello to everyone,
This is my first post here, and I hope that you can help me.
For example. If cell K20 is 5g I want to automatically fill out
other cells A40=50 , A41=100 , A42=1000 , A43=2500 .....?
Ive attached a table how it looks like.
Thanks

Not sure why you have attached a Word document - it would be more helpful to attach a sample Excel workbook.
Pete
rather than a word doc - why not attach the spreadsheet ?
or is this a word question ?
What happens if K20 is not 5g
and does K20 have the text 5g or 5 the number in it ?

Sorry guys, Here is the blank workbook. I didnt wont to bother you with
the whole workbook. K20 need to have letter next to the number. It could be
1g(gram), 2g, 5g, 10g and it also could be 1/2g, 2/5g , 5/10g but that for later.
Based on that criteria I want that other cells fills out automatically. You will
see in the workbook example for 5g. For other value in K20 cell other cells will have
different values. This workbook is for testing the scales.
Thanks
On what pattern we should decide the values 50, 100, 1000 ....etc??
Please specify how should these be calculated from the input "5g".

Sourabh
wasn't really after a blank workbook
Would like to see an example of your data and also a manual mock up of the expected results you want to achieve.
dont leave anything for later as that may change the whole formula and waste a lot of peoples time hereIt could be
1g(gram), 2g, 5g, 10g and it also could be 1/2g, 2/5g , 5/10g but that for later.
can you mock up some examples of different values and what the results should be
That is also a little bit problem. It also depends on Max and these values are points of
testing the scale and they are always different. For example. If max is 15kg and e is 5g
the points will be (50,100,1000,2500,5000,10000,15000). If max is 30kg and e is 10g the
points will be(100,200,1000,5000,10000,20000,30000). The required points of testing are.
1. 10*K20
2. Min
3. 500*K20
4. 2000*k20
5. Max
But withing these points I may choose some that I want because I need to have it between 5 and 10.
OK Etaf I will fill out the whole workbook for example.
sorry - dont need the whole workbook
just the data you are entering and the results you expect
and then some examples of different results and the rules that apply
any rules would help
as i think you may have done hereIf max is 15kg and e is 5g
the points will be (50,100,1000,2500,5000,10000,15000). If max is 30kg and e is 10g the
points will be(100,200,1000,5000,10000,20000,30000). The required points of testing are.
1. 10*K20
2. Min
3. 500*K20
4. 2000*k20
5. Max
But I have to admit - i'm still unclear of the rules to apply to a formula
Here is the complete workbook. In all
three sheet, columns named with:
L are the values that we specifies
I is the indication on scales that we type in
ΔL –additional load to next changeover point
E - error we use the formula to count it. Im already using it. You will see.
Ec - correction error with zero error also use a formula.
NDG - Allowed error for that point of testing
I know its a complicated especially for you that you see this pattern for
the first time so i will try to explain it to you on the best possible way.
One more thing. I havent use the letters in my example because
my formulas wont work that way. It should be letters next to the
numbers. 15 kg, 100g, 5g , 5g
No any ideas?
As to post #11: to get the values to show as grams go to the Home tab > Number pane. From the drop down choose 'More number formats' > custom > type: 0 "g" (for integers), 0.0 "g" (for decimals to the tenths) or 0.00 "g" (for decimals to the hundredths) etc. As to the pattern and its relationship to the value of cell K20 ("First" sheet) it seems that you want a formula that will fill in the values for cells A40:A47 (guessing). I don't see enough of a pattern to do that, my thinking is that each cell will need its own formula similar to your list in post #7.
