Auto populate events to excel calendar from a list

I need help, please. I have a spreadsheet with a monthly calendar (Columns A - G). Each month is on a separate tab. to the right of each calendar (Columns i - K) there are 3 columns of data (Date, Type, Description) I'm trying to auto populate data from the "Type" column (J) into the calendar that is on the same sheet. There are times when there will be 2 - 4 types on the same day so the formula will need to populate all of them on the same day. Does anyone know of the formula that will work?

Re: Auto populate events to excel calendar from a list

See if this thread gives you some ideas:

    http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...-on-excel.html

With my calendar generators I tend to have one sheet for ALL activities, which can be listed in any order, and one sheet for a monthly calendar where you can select the month and year from drop-downs. The one pointed to in my first post in that thread will display up to 7 activities on any one day, but later in the thread I give the capability to display up to 10 in ranges of 10.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

Re: Auto populate events to excel calendar from a list

Thank you for the reply, Pete. I did see the posts you mentioned. I do need to have the calendar and the data all on one sheet as in the example image posted by RazedC in the first post. Each month of this calendar will be on a separate tab with the data for each month on the same tab as the calendar. Is there a formula to auto populate the data onto the calendar that is on the same sheet? There will be days where there are more than one event so it will need to populate all of them. I've been struggling with this for weeks. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Good afternoon, Pete. Just wanted to let you know that I was able to figure it out using the formula from one of the templates. I'm all set. Thank you for your assistance.
