VLOOKUP (look up value is the result)

    Hi,

I'm looking for some help on a formula on dynamic lookup ranges, where the look up value is dependant on another value.

    Number - Name - Attending
    1 - John - Yes
    2 - Peter - No
    3 - Steve - Yes
    4 - Paul - Yes
    5 - Ronald - No

In another tab I would like a table like this:
    Number - Name

Where all the guests that have said "yes" to attend are listed in order, so the result would look like:

    Number - Name
    1 - John
    2 - Steve
    3 - Paul

Hope this makes sense, and many thanks!

    Hi,

Rather than using a formula have you considered using a data filter. Either an autofilter on the first tab or an advanced filter to extract all the Yes records to the second tab.

Yes, I could just copy paste the "Yes" values as well, but was curious to see if there was a better solution :-)
