    Question cell formula display

Yesterday the display of a formula in a cell suddenly changed from direct referencing (e.g. g3/3) to indirect (e.g. R[1]C[-3]/3). I'm going boss-eyed counting back! Why did this happen? How can I return to the previous format? - I can't find the right option.

    Re: cell formula display

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum.

Click on File --> Options --> Formulas --> Under "Working with formulas", uncheck the box for R1C1 reference style --> OK
    Regards
    sktneer

Did this start after running a macro?

I can't think of any reason it would be necessary for someone to make that change in order for their code to run, but it's still possible that they could have done it.
