I have about 500 rows of data that needs to be altered:
Current S# New S#
S1284 S1284
S1284X S1284-1
S2501 S2501X
S2501X S2501
Whenever I run a VLOOKUP or INDEX MATCH formula it returns a #N/A for the S#'s that are similar except for the X.
Any ideas?
I'm not following. Do you want to replace the 500 rows of data in (let's say Col A) with a new S# (as shown in your example)? or are you looking to do a vlookup where Current S# is in column A and New S# is in Col B?

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires
