Cell variable in external external link (hlookup fuction)

Hi all,

I am dealing with a huge amount of data on google and forums, but can't seem to place it all together.

1. I need concatenation for this, since from what I read INDIRECT() does can't open closed excel files.
2. I can't use MOREFUNC | Ashish Mathur's Blog (morefunc), cause it's on the network, and I can't tell 100 people to install the add-in.

The evaluation of the formula shows me the variable names ok, so the concatenation works, but I get #VALUE! error...

I am guessing my opening " and closing ", make the whole thing a string. But I really don't know.

I am open to other suggestions, but given the facts.

Please help.
