Help using SUMPRODUCT and CATEGORY to add various values

    Hi,

I'm looking for help using vlookup and sum to add values from a single column providing they meet two different criterias:

The sheet of data i have is submitted daily and is show in the format below. id like a formula on another sheet showing me summary of one persons total sales in a a single day (adding the different venues sales together).

Some people may have have more than one entry if they sell items in different venues.

    Column A = Names, Column B = Day Column C = Venue and Column D = Sales

    Adam, 2, In Store, 1000
    Ben, 2, Ecommerce, 300
    Adam, 2, Ecommerce, 500

So on the other sheet, id like it to say in a column of a summary of DAY 2 to lookup Adams total sales and present 1500.

EDIT: ok so after having a good look around and research, i think i will have to use SUMPRODUCT and CATEGORY maybe but i have no experience in using these formulas.

Re: Help using VLOOKUP and SUM together to add specific numbers in a single column

You can't do it with that combination of functions. It would be better to use a SUMIFS function:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

You could do it with a SUMPRODUCT function:
