Count if cell contains one or more characters

Hi,

I need to count number of cells within a range that contain one or more characters.
eg. 123KDA, 245FDA, 43GHI...

Number of cells that contain DA shoud be 2.

Please help.

This formula entered in D1:

=COUNTIF(A1:A5,"*"&C1&"*")
