Conditional formatting problem- not all cells seem to use the formula

    Hello,

I have an issue with conditional formatting in which it seems as if the cells I have applied the formula to are not applying the rule. For example, I have it set that if the choice in the drop down box for cell D11 is a "no", cells D15 thru D24 should be filled black so that the user knows he/she should not input data. However, when I apply this rule, only some of the cells turn black upon the "no" being chosen. When I scroll down and modify some of the answers in cells D15 thru D24 (which are yes/no and automatically default to "no"), other cells in the same range randomly fill black. Any ideas what's going on here? I've tried to re-do this many times, but I'm not quite sure why this is happening.

    Thanks in advance

Any chance you could upload a sample workbook?

In this case, I can't. It only seems to do it in this sheet, and since it is filled with proprietary data, I can't clear it out in such a way that it could be posted here. Much of the data has dependencies within the sheet, so it wouldn't work if I modified it.

Given what you have said, the CF Formula for cells D15:D24 should be
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Yes, that is what I have, but it still did not work. I ended up copying out the formatting and placing it into a new sheet, then deleting the old sheet and everything worked once I replaced the original formulas from the other cells. I have no idea what happened, but it works now. Thanks anyway!
