Sort multiple columns (for years of donations) to find single year donors (in rows)

    Hi there,

I'm new to this forum, and a basic user of Excel, working for a non-profit. I tried to find my situation in the forum threads, but wasn't able to. I'm trying to take the last five years of donors/donations and sort them into one time, two time, etc. donors.

I need to calculate how many one-off donations we've had, and the total amount they've donated for each year. I have one column with the donor name, and five additional for the years I need to quantify.

There are nearly 800 rows of names/donations and doing it manually isn't going to work...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi ACCESKenya,
I would be useful if you give an example of the format that your data is currently in and an example of what you want the output to look like as well.
Preferrably if you can attach it to this thread as an Excel sheet rather than a picture.
(p.s. I had a look at your website and I love what you are doing )

    Hi
If your header data is (Name, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5) in row one and columns from A to F, use the following formula in H2 and copy right and down
    Formula: copy to clipboard
