    VLookUp across multiple workbooks

    Hi

Might be a really daft question but how do I run a Vlookup across multiple workbooks so I have one master report that logs all sales inquiries and then each sales person has an individual tracker so I want to be able to clearly show on the master

    A. does the data exist in one of the 8 individual trackers
    B. if it does return the status

I'm fine doing this across one but seem to be coming unstuck when I'm trying to do it across 8 different workbooks in one formula??

    Thanks

I would likely pull 8 different columns of data, then one summary column, so you can see where it is coming from.

Easily auditing your work is more important than a lot of people think...

    Thanks

On looking at it I want the data I'm looking at to pull from different workbooks but the data doesnt sit in the first column so am I right in thinking I need to this on an index match formula instead of lookup?
