MATCH not working

I have a table which has been prepared manually. The first column was typed as numbers and then formatted as text. I want to find a row no in my table by comparing a string of numbers to that first column.
The Match formula will not see the link. I have checked that there are no trailing spaces or similar traps. Can anyone please explain what is happening. I have attached a sheet to help explain.

The stuff in column B is number and you are searching for text. See attached and my column A to help answer your question.

Thanks for your interest in my query and for the wonderfully simple solution. I had wasted hours yesterday trying to end with a column of text rather than numbers.
