    PTO formula question

I was just assigned the fun task of cleaning up the company's PTO, which was never tracked before. I am looking for a formula that will allow for the following conditions.
The pay periods are 1-15 and the 16- the end of the month.
0-1 years of service accrue at 1.6 per pay period (twice a month) Cap of 40 hours
    1-2 accrue at 3.2 with a cap of 80
2-6 years of service accrue at 4.8 cap of 120
    6 + years accrue at 6.4 cap of 160

The employees can roll over there PTO from year to year with the cap in place depending on years of service, I am looking for a formula based off Hire date

    Thank you for your help!

If you put together a sample workbook with some data and the result you expect it will be much easier to help you.

    Re: PTO formula question

I am not sure what the formula would be to calculate how many pay periods there would be based on a 1-15 and 16-end of month pay cycle then just muliply that number by what they would accrue per pay period.

Employee Hire Date Accrued PTO Cap
    Name 05/22/2016 ? 40
    Name 03/15/2016 ? 40
    Name 03/28/2011 ? 120

This solution uses a helper table, see setup in attached file, and then references that table with the following formula:
