Question VLOOKUP help

I'm trying to write a VLOOKUP function to lookup a referenced cell from another excel wkst. The function I have is... =VLOOKUP(referenced cell, table array from other excel wkst.,column reference number that I want outputed). When I do this though, I keep getting #N/A saying that the referenced cell doesn't exist in the table array. I did a manual function to make sure it was there and it is. Can anyone help with this problem?

Thanks.

Re: VLOOKUP help

Are you including the True/False parameter of the VLOOKUP? Does the col_index_num exceed the number of rows in the index due to possible miscalculation?

View help for VLOOKUP
"If lookup_value is smaller than the smallest value in the first column of table_array, VLOOKUP returns the #N/A error value."
"ensure that the data in the first column of table_array does not have leading spaces, trailing spaces, inconsistent use of straight ( ' or " ) and curly ( ‘ or “) quotation marks, or nonprinting characters"

Re: VLOOKUP help

Also, if you KNOW that your search criteria really does exist in the search range, make sure that the 2 really are identical - check for leading /training spaces and spelling/typos
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
