    Nesting a long IF formula

Today i have been struggling to get a "If,if.if formula, which i had goten to work (The first part, before i realized that I forgot to take the currency in to account).

    Working:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

I thought this was an easy fix by making this formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

However it says I've put in to many arguments, which confuses me, does that mean a nested formula can't have this many functions?

I want my formula to look in which currency it should be (EUR / USD) (so that it can grab the right price .
Afterward it needs to look what kind of work was done (displayed in cell :Project!C23)

    - Working hours
    - travel time
    - waiting time

When it knows that it should get the right values (EUR: prijs! I13:I15), (USD: J13:J15)

So basically i would really appreciate if someone could tell me how/if i can fix this issue!

    Thanks in advance

If you attach the workbook, it will be much easier and quicker for us to help.

I am aware of that, however I won't be able to do that.
What i can do however is make an example sheet, which i will do now!

    Yes, please. :-)

Make sure the format is essentially the same - don't leave out something that might make a difference.

Here you go, in the 3rd sheet the formula (the one that doesn't take valuta into account is in the upper blue cell)

You will need to adapt the price sheet slightly. Add these to cells J13-J15:

    J13: Travel time
    J14: Working hours
    J15: Waiting time

Then you can use this in J23 of the project sheet, copied down:

    =INDEX(prijs!$H$13:$I$15,MATCH(Project!C23,prijs!$J$13:$J$15,0),MATCH(basis!$D$7,prijs!$H$12:$I$12,0))

Looking again at your sheet, you might need this slight adaptation (in red):

    =INDEX(prijs!$H$13:$I$15,MATCH(Project!C23,prijs!$J$13:$J$15,0),MATCH(basis!$D$7,prijs!$H$12:$I$12,0))*H23

Re: Nesting a long IF formula

I found the error (in my example workbook there was EUR/USD above the cells (in the price sheet), which is higher up in my actual sheet.
    Thanks again!
