count equal numbers on two columns for given number

I need a formula to count like in atached file
please see it.

Some results in your file dont make sense to me. Why does Cell C6 = 1? You want to count the number of times "3" (from A6) shows up in the range A2 to B5. The answer to that is 2 (once in A2 and once in B2).

Also, why does c13 = 1, when there are 3 instances of "7" in the range A2 to B12?

the problem is to count equality of two nombers on same row on two specified columns. this pair of numbers must also be equal with the given number.
in this case the given number is on column A. At cell A6 is number 3 so the formula must count the theuntil a row above three pairs. the result is 1 at C6 becose is only one pair of three on the two columns A and B from row 2 to row 5.

the same answer is for C13 there is ony one pair of seven on row 5 and the count is until row 12.

so i don't want to count numburs but pair of numbers. the formula must look at number on column A to see if there are pairs of numbers identical with number on column A.

how can I make formula to expand automatically when I type data in columns a and b?

Not sure I understand, but this formula is anchored to column 2, so as you copy it down, the ranges that it is looking at will always start with column 2 and end with column above the cell the formula is in.
