Sum/count help

Hi please see uploaded file.

I am trying to populate the summary sheet from the data tab.

I need a formula that counts how many Persons (col D) there are, in each location (col J) and for that month Col A and returns that value into the summary sheet.

Any help would be great. Thanks

=COUNTIFS(Data!A$2:A$5,B$1,Data!J$2:J$5,$A3)

try this: =COUNTIFS(Data!$A$2:$A$5,'Summary table'!B$1,Data!$J$2:$J$5,'Summary table'!$A3) in Cell B3

Hi thank you.

Although this does not work in my case, because the spreadsheet is extended down from the sample.

So for example, the same names will appear many times in June, but I only want to count each name once, the above formulas are counting every instance of the name.
