copy selected cells from a column while excluding others

I am working with a time study program that allows me to export the information I gather into excel. The Problem is that the software displays the content in such a way that it is difficult to populate the proper template i created with the information it needs. Below is a image showing the information I need. the time information contained in the rows for the unloading staging cycle need to be copied from this document and placed in a column on my template.

the problem is that there are rows with information that i do need in parts of the template but not in the same column as the unloading time information.

Is there a formula that will allow me to grab what I need and leave the rest?

Attaching a sample workbook enables others to work on your problem:

To attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include BEFORE/AFTER sheets if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

It looks as if you want the times transferred to Sheet2 in the Stage Material Start and Stop columns, however that is just a guess. It would help us to help you if you would add EXPECTED results to the uploaded file based on the information that is on the 'data imported from data report' sheet. It would also help to know HOW you come up with the expected results.
Consider taking the time to add to the reputation of everybody that has taken the time to respond to your query.

Re: copy selected cells from a column while excluding others

    this is what I need
On the imported from data report tab in the sample book every time a row contains the words unloading/staging cycle the time in column G needs to be moved to tab "sheet 2" and placed in column B/C. I have highlighted the needed information on both tabs in red.
In a nut shell I need the times in column G of the "data imported from data report" to be displayed in columns B/C of the sheet 2 report but only if the times are in a row that contains the data "unloading / staging cycle.

Try this array entered formula* in Sheet2!B8 and copied down:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.
*Array entered formulas are confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error or a clearly incorrect answer. Note: They also will not work in merged cells, so in the attachment the format has been changed from merged to 'Center across Selection' (press Ctrl + 1, and from the alignment tab make the choice under 'Text Alignment' > 'Horizontal')
Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: copy selected cells from a column while excluding others

this is close. I am getting the cell on sheet 2 populated by a time from column G on the data imported from data report tab but not the one I need. it is giving me 7:07:20 which is in row 1 "start cycle" instead of row 3 "Unloading / staging cycle". The first time it should show is 7:12:52.

As I copy the formula down sheet 2 column B it needs to add the times from column G in ascending order. Right now it just copies 7:07:20 all down the column.

Re: copy selected cells from a column while excluding others

After un-merging B8 and C8 paste the formula into B8, press the F2 key then press Ctrl, Shift and Enter simultaneously. You will need to un-merge B9:C26 before you copy the formula down. The file attached to #7 shows the desired results you describe in post #8.
