Deleting empty cells.

If I manually input a value into 10 random cells then select their range and delete the empty cells using go to special it works as I want, but when I paste the same values into the same cells as before it won't select the empty cells for me to delete

Can someone help with this?

I should say that the pasted values have been generated by formulas.

'Empty' cells containing formulae aren't actually empty - is this the issue?

I have formulas all the way down column A, most return nothing using "" but some return a value.
I was hoping to copy the values that did show in column A and paste them into column B then remove the blanks so they are all together.

Is that possible?

If you're pasting from a formula, you're probably pasting the result of "" which is Excel sees as different from a blank cell (it's a null value). Assuming you're looking at a single column (if not, you'd need to do this one column at a time)

Select the column, Data> select "Text to Columns", then click "Finish"
This will remove the null values and those cells will now register as blank.

There's a far better way of doing all that!! Read the yellow banner (top... the one about sample sheets!!), mock-up and post a small sample sheet
