I'm trying to do a sumif formula, but the 2 ranges need to be created first to form unique values. is it possible? or do I need to create extra columns to separate concat first?
just like this - Sumif(Concatenate values from 2 columns, Ref Value, Concatenate values from 2 columns)

Welcome to excel forum.
Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.
Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Sorry I'm not able to upload a file, but I have taken a screen capture
On the left side, you can see in column C that it is a concat between ID1 & ID2. I need to concat because ID1 is not unique, and under the ID1 category there are different variations (found in ID2 column). Hence, I first need to create a unique ID (column C), in order to sumif the values on the right side (column J). Similarly on the right side, I would need to create a corresponding unique ID found in column I.
What I want to know is whether I can use a sumif without having to take the extra step to create the extra concat columns (C & I). I am open to other solutions that doesn't use sumif. Thank so much!

Use SUMIFS
=SUMIFS(D:D,A:A,id1,B:B,id2)
