Thumbs up Issue with Checkboxing a item and it appearing on another sheet

Thanks in the advance for the help here guys; Attached is the Excel sheet (zipped up) & I've upload the video here - H T T P S //youtu.be/AeFYZfJvldI

Basically, we were wanting to check the 'checkbox' in the 'Exclusions' sheet, and have them populate into the ‘Proposal' sheet. We had it going but, we are lost. I hope it's simply and someone can help a challenge college grad.

    Thanks,
    Russo

    1. Provide a SAMPLE workbook. A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.
    2. Many of us won't follow links (I won't, nor will |I ipen .zip files), so please explain in DETAIL what the issue is that you would like help with.

    Thanks.

Ok, so if you checkmark the various items (AISC, Calculations, Field Measurements, EDGE, etc.) in the exclusions sheet..how can I make that item appear in the 'Proposal' sheet (hightlighted in yellow); Sorta a 'Add-to-List' type of setup. I feel that it would have to be with the 'True / False' statements to do with the formuala...
I hope this makes sense? Thanks! (attached is a sample workbook)

    Much appreciated,

see attached template - use data validation to transfer data to template.
where ever possible steer clear of merged cells (especially where data manipulation is taking place)
customer details should fill in when customer is select and also item details as items are selected.
if you favour your approach just use 'X' in cell (far easier to maintain than a bunch of tick boxes)
you will note your tickbox boundaries are not totally contained within the cell - in time you will experience them wandering all over the sheet.

    Torachan,

Mission statement; Promote the use of Tables, Outlaw the use of 'merged cells' and 'RowSource'.

Re: Issue with Checkboxing a item and it appearing on another sheet

I found out the actually formula to get the checked, check box to make a list was =FILTER('Required Tools'!C5:C30,'Required Tools'!B5:B30=TRUE)

Now, it just lists the check-marked item down the rows. My question now, would be how to constrain it to just list 3 or 4 items then move over to the next column and list 3 or 4 items?

    Thanks,
    Russo

yes - the square of the tickbox is in the cell, however right click on the tickbox and you will see the extremities of the control fall outside of the cell.
click on H6 - you get choice of customers .... click cells D16 : D25 you get choice of items
