I currently have four years of monthly data as well as annual averages. I know what I want for my annual averages going forward but do not have the inputs for the monthly. How can I populate my future monthly chart using a range of the previous months and pre-determining the average for the year
Figure out what percentage each month accounts for (historically) and multiply that percentage by your target annual average to get the monthly values.
January Forecast
=SUM(Values for January)/SUM(All Values) * ProjectedYearAmount
Your SUM could also be a SUMIF or SUMIFS - depends on your data stucture.
