Plot text for Chart markers

Hello Friends

Please refer the attached Excel 2010 version file both `Sheet1' and `Chart' sheets.

I need to plot the texts (Column D to Chart) automatically.

Now I plotted manually by using text box with red color font.


Is there is any way to plot this automatically instead maually.

If I understand what you want, you can either use Rob Bovey's XY chart labeler add-in (appspro.com) or create the chart in Excel 2013 or later, which has this functionality built into Excel.

Here is a solution for you.
The trick is you have to create a new column for every describtion of point (like A,B,C etc.).
In this columns I used INDEX and MATCH functions to find a value of point according to describtion. It is VERY important to leave errors as it is, thanks to that, chart won't show any points instead of 0 values.
Then I changed range for chart to B1:C10 and I1:E10. I added point names in chart options (i don't know the name in english - etiquets?), changed their color to red and changed data type for Name series, to show column names instead of values.
I also deleted colored markings, sorry If you didn't want to do that.
Most important, after all changes I saved chart template, because every time you change range of data, chart often likes to change its settings. Then you just have to load a template and everything is back to normal

Hope that is what you are looking for Obviously, now you don't have to write etiquets every time. If you want to change a name, just change the heading of colums.

Both Feronen and MrShortly replies are very useful. Sometimes i will use less number of dataseries say < 15 durning that time i can use Feronen thread indication. Sometimes i will use huge data (data labels) say > 200 during that time i will use Excel 2013 per MrShortly.
