Use this as the conditional formatting rule:
=AND(TODAY()>=D2-10,TODAY()<=D2)

column A actual date and Column D is expiry data, before 10 days of actual date will be highlighted in expiry date.
How about posting a SMALL sample file and show us what dates should be highlighted.

yes, it's not working for me
I tried it and it worked.
Note that the Expiry Date in your sample file is wrong: it should be 10/08/2016 NOT 08/10/2016
