Calculating hours and dollars knowing total and percent : Includes some real math

    Hi,

I am attempting to create a worksheet that can calculate the hours needed and the dollars needed for a certain job, knowing the percentage of job hours a staff member normally works on similar jobs.
    I know the following things:
    The staff members pay rate
The percentage of the job hours they take
The total budget for the job.

    I need to know:
the hours each person will need for the job
The dollars needed for that persons hours for the job.

Please see the attached worksheet to see what I got started.
Right now it calculates if I can tell it the total hours (red cell), but I want it to tell ME the hours based on the provided information.

This is a real brain strain, so I hope you like a challenge.

    Thanks for your help.

You can't independently specify the percentage of hours by labor category, their labor rates, and the total number of hours and expect to arrive at the budget. Instead of the 150 hours manual entry in F6, use =E6/P4, the budget divided by the blended labor rate.
