Lookup, if, and, or - cell reference

Is there any way to lookup if a specific value is found left of my current cell (or another given cell)? I only need to look in one row, not several.

I would like to use this to decide which cell my current cell should retrieve data from. If the specific value (eg. 12) is found left of mye current cell I would like it to read from D2, if not read from C2.


Or, any way to lookup and return the cell reference to where a specific value is found (only one row)?!

I am little bit confused by your explanation. Can you show us a couple of specific examples of what you are trying to do.

I've attached a sample workbook. I would like to check row no. 3 for the number "12". If this is found left of my current cell, I would like the current cell to read D2 instead of C2 (which is default).

Because of the merge and center alignment of the month number I couldn't get a formula to work successfully. I did however get the following, pasted in E6 and copied across, to work using the week number.

Worked like charm! Exactly what I was looking for! :D I couldn't find a way for it work with either the month number or the week number, but this solved it all! Thank you so much!!
