How do I display the count of cell contents depending on date?

Hello,

I'm looking for the way to count the number of times a certain letter appears in an array, depending on the date.

Hi,

Put a proper date in E2, i.e. 1/1/2016 (format if you want as "mmm")
In E3 enter

Thanks for that, works fine - just wondering now if I were to use a second sheet to display the results, it doesn't seem to work if I add

Sheet1!

before any cell values, am I doing something wrong there?

Hi,

No reason why adding Sheet1! won't work. You only need it for the A2:A8 and C2:C8 ranges of course and not the Column E or H cells.

Easiest way to achieve this of course is to put the formulae on Sheet1, then Cut the whole range and paste to the Summary sheet.
