    Smile Dropdown - multiple conditions

    Hi,
So here's my problem. In cell A1 I want to select either Yes or No using a dropdown.

In cell B1 I want to have another option

If I select Yes, I want my dropdown in B1 to automatically select Always, but to have a second dropdown option of Sometimes
If I select No in A1, I want there to only be one entry in B1, Never, and I want this to change automatically if I select No

To do as you describe would require VBA code.

    Re: Dropdown - multiple conditions

As Tony says, you'll need VBA for this. By coincidence, I just answered a similar question in another thread: http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...condition.html
Have a look at the code there. You would want to change the references to B2 to A1 and C2 to B1. You'd also want to change the drop-down references, plus change the line in the 'No' section to put in 'Never' instead of 'NA'.
To have 'Always' put in automatically, you could add a line at the end of the 'Yes' section, after 'End With':

Hopefully that makes sense. If not, get back to me/us.

I recently started a new job so am a bit busy and may not reply quickly. Sorry - it's not personal - I will reply eventually.
If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.
