    Question Formula that will result the cell blank based on adjacent cell

    I have a cell that I place in a total amount. If that total amount is equal or greater than the cell in reference, then it will display "PAID". If it is less than the total, it will display "DUE" in a cell next to the total I typed in.

    It is displaying the and working fine, however, what I need to add is if the cell Q6 is displaying "DUE" but the cell P6 doesn't have a total typed in, I want Q6 to stay null.

    This is the working formula I have to display everything correctly...

    =IF(OR($K$6<=0,$K$6=""),"",IF($K$6>=P3,"PAID",IF(OR($K$6<=P3,$K$6>0),"DUE","")))

    I was thinking I just needed to add a line like: =IF(Q6="DUE","",) but when I try, it says I have too many arguments.

    K6 is the cell it's comparing the total I need in the cell I type in.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thanks for any help!

    Try this:

    =IF(AND(Q6="DUE",P6=""),"",IF(OR($K$6<=0,$K$6=""),"",IF($K$6>=P3,"PAID",IF(OR($K$6<=P3,$K$6>0),"DUE",""))))

    The extra comma is probably your problem:

    =IF(Q6="DUE","",)

    Thank you AliGW - that gave me a circular reference warning. I am probably too tired to mess with it atm... I will try again tomorrow. Thank you again

    Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.
