Making the best line up for a sport

I am a gymnastics coach and i would like to make an excel form that i can put about 20 gymnasts in with scores for each event that they have previously scored and possible potential scores. After that i would like it to take all 6 events and figure out what combination of 8 gymnasts would make the best line up.

20 Total gymnasts
6 events are Floor Pommels Rings Vault P-Bars High bar plus All-Around


8 gymnasts selected for the team
5 gymnasts can go per event


I need to find what combination of the 20 gymnasts would make up the best possible team putting 5 gymnasts up per event using a max of 8 gymnasts total.


I know that could sound a little confusing but if you have an idea please let me know and i could go in to a little more detail.

This attachment may get you on the right track.

Basically use past scores, add them to new scores & create a RANKED list to find the TOP & BOTTOM gymnast, make a listing for each event.
