    conditional formatting

Is there a way to create a conditional format where it will change the color of a cell if it is the same as another cell with an exception of a certain text being a duplicate? For example, I want cell B2 to turn red if it is the same as C2 unless they both say "unknown", in which case they don't change to any color.
    Thanks for all the help!

    Re: conditional formatting

In conditional formatting use the "Use a formula..." option.

    Formula: =AND(B2<>"unknown",B2<>"",B2=C2)

Assuming you don't want the cell to be highlighted if it's an empty/blank cell.
