    Matching/Indexing

I am a novice/amateur excel user. I need a formula or combination in the matching/indexing family in order to achieve the following goal. I have a long list of SKUs (anywhere from 300-500), each of which will be married to it's own ever-changing price in two separate files/tables. I will have one base inventory file including many definition/columns (including SKU/Price) which I will be looking to update frequently, by means of a separate frequently updating SKU/Price table to link to the inventory page. To simplify updating the base inventory file, I'd obviously want to get excelling and create a matching function that states "from the SKU set in the base inventory file, if an item matches a SKU in the SKU/PRICE TABLE (for which there will be one match) , then replace the inventory file price with the corresponding price in the SKU/Price table. Let me know the smoothest way to get here, if you can please. Thanks very much.

    Re: Matching/Indexing

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    Re: Matching/Indexing

You could put this formula in K6:

    =VLOOKUP(J6,F:G,2,0)

    then copy down.

    Hope this helps.
