    Help for an "IF" formula

Hello could someone direct me? I would like to create a formula that would populate a cell if i select another cell. Thinking along the lines of if B2 is checked off, then C2 would fill with the value in A2. I guess I would need to have a formula for B2 as well, like a true or false formula. Any help is greatly appreciated. Probably simple for most but I'm the dummy. Thanks again.

Re: Help for an "IF" formula

    In A2: Test
    In B2: Y
    In C2: =If(B2="Y", A2, "")
    Frob first, tweak later
