I have a set of Results in A1 and then I have a grid in C1:D1 where I want to tally these results based on everyones picks
Am I able to create a formula where IF the data in C1=A1 then you get +1 BUT if C1=A1 and it's BOLD you get +2 instead of +1.

I think this is a bad idea. Much better is to use different cells etc to control if things should be summed or not. Otherwise you may find issues later on when you play around with the sheet.
can't you just say if the numbers column is greater than 1 then use it if not then use 1 ?
However if you insist you can add the below to the macros in your sheet.
remove the Application.Volatile if you don't want it to be volatile (ie keep recalculating)
