# Count if but only after calculation

1. ## Count if but only after calculation

Hello All,

I am stuck in a countif logic where i want to execute a formula to the value in a cell first and if the condition is met, add that to the count

For example

Name 1st Entry 2nd Entry
A 100 84
B 100 84
C 100 84
D 100 86
E 100 86
F 100 86
G 100 86

in this, first I want to calculate the percentage of 2nd entry compared to the 1st entry in the same row and if that is above 85%, then take that for counting.

Like this, for the entire column, the total count after applying the formula should be 4

Note: 1st entry wont be 100 always. Just gave that for easiness Register To Reply

Try below formula
=sumproduct(--(c1:c7>=b1:b7*85%))  Register To Reply

3. ## Re: Count if but only after calculation

Try this ...

=SUMPRODUCT(--(C2:C8/B2:B8>0.85)) Register To Reply

4. ## Re: Count if but only after calculation

WoW....

Thanks..Both the formulas are working great...

I was trying with the counif function only...

Thank you both for your help Register To Reply

Hi.

I went through this. Nice to see the answers. But felt difficult about what it says! Why that -- in array means? Why it has to come as 4? What the solution means? I might be quite good at basic formulas. But having difficulty in understanding this. can anyone please explain this ?

Thank you.
