    IF statement when constructing formulas

    In my spreadsheet I need a cell to be populated with the text of "Green, Yellow or Red" based on the final % calculated in a column (see below):

    >=90% is green
    80%-89% is yellow
    <= 79% is red

    I thought I had it but...after many tries it just never worked. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Re: Need formula

    Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.

    Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will need to be changed.

    To change a Title go to your first post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

    (This thread should receive no further responses until this moderation request is fulfilled, as per Forum Rule 7)

    Re: Need formula

    Either
    IF(A1>=0.9,"Green",IF(A1>=0.8,"Yellow","Red"))
    or
    =LOOKUP(A1,{0,0.80,0.90},{"Red","Yellow","Green"})

    Now go and change the title of the thread to something relevant as per Rule 1

    Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

    If you can't find the time to read and follow the simple rules of the forum then why should we be expected to find the time to help you?

    You won't have these "problems" at other Excel help forums.
