In a drop down cell A1 contains two values, Blue & Red. If the drop down is selected Blue I'd like the following cells A3,A4,A6 to be the color blue. The same if the drop down would be selected Red. Is there a formula I can use in cell A1 to do so?

You need to use Conditional formatting.
Select Cells B3, B4 and B6
Select the Home Tab and Then Conditional Formatting.
Select New Rule and then use Formula
use this FormulaFormula:Please Login or Register to view this content.
and then select format and select fill and then Blue.
Repeat all the above replacing Blue with Red.
