    conditional formatting

I have a worksheet with about 30 columns and 1,800 rows.

Lets say I want to do conditional formatting for every, based on the value in Column Z. How would i do it, and can I use the format painter? (I've tried, but no luck).

For example if Cell Z23 <= $A$1, then the entire row of Z3 turns red.
I copy this formatting down to all 1,800 rows.

(If this post belongs in charts, I can close it and repost there)

    Thanks
