    Question School Attendance Register- Calculating for half day withdrawal

    Good day all
    I have developed an excel workbook to calculate attendance of students, however i cant seem to get to calculate half days withdrawal if a "W" is inserted in the cell ranges

    here is formulae I used to do the calculation
    P = Present
    A= absent
    AE= absent with excuse
    AS= absent suspended
    W= Withdrawal (1/2 day)
    the sheet counts the absences. But I need to account for 1/2 day leave too.

    =IF(LEN(B11)>0,COUNTIF($D11:$NE11,"A")+COUNTIF($D11:$NE11,"AE")+COUNTIF($D11:$NE11,"AS"),"")*2

    This Formula gets me to calculate for 2 sessions in the day, but if a student needs to leave half day I can record the withdrawal, but not subtract from the total ; since a "W" is equal to 1/2 days

    Pleas any suggestions?
