Try
=SUMIFS($E$4:$E$98,$D$4:$D$98,G5,$C$4:$C$98,">=01/07/2012",$C$4:$C$98,"<=30/06/2013")
Data in your formula was formatted as mm/dd/yyyy rather than dd/mm/yyyy

i'm in UK and the dates default to UK values
so I had to change the
6/30/2013
to
30/6/2013
and it worked
do you have the dates defaulted to
MM/DD/YYYYformat
