Mail Merge Formatting Error

I am looking to Mail Merge our Needs Assessment, which is in an Excel file, to our Contract, which is in a Word document. Everything is working well except for our event description. It is pulling in in this format:

Any ideas on what I am or may be doing wrong?

Update - it has something to do with this formula because it is pulling the data from another sheet..... =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(P2,'Event Descriptions'!A1:B31,2),"")

Try adding a 0 after the 2:

=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(P2,'Event Descriptions'!A1:B31,2,0),"")

In my experience mail merges always get messed up if the source data is a formula. I always paste special-->values in the source data.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't work, still importing with boxes.

Maybe try target place format to Unformatted unicode text not as HTML but you are very thrifty with your description and hard to think what and how you got errors above.
