SUMIFS/COUNTIFS for multiple conditions/ranges

Hi there,

I'm fairly new to excel, i've just started using it for work and I've learned a lot in a short period of time, but i've been stuck on trying to create a formula for:

I have multiple lists of Criteria in A5:A62, d5:d62, g5:g62, etc with respective data for that criteria in c5:c62, e5:e62, f5:f62 etc that I would like summed based on that criteria but also, I would like it only summed based on a date in a2,d2,g2,s2, etc

I'll try and explain below better

December 1st December 2nd January 1st
house 1 data 1 House 1 data 1 house 1 data 1
house 2 data 2 House 2 data 2 house 2 data 2
house 1 data 3 House 1 data 3 house 1 data 3
house 4 data 4 House 4 data 4 house 4 data 4
house 2 data 5 House 2 data 5 house 2 data 5

I would like my output data to sum up all the data by house, but also by month.

December January
house 1 data house 1 data
house 2 data house 2 data
house 3 data house 3 data
house 4 data house 4 data

Hi BoudeyCall and welcome to the forum.

I notice that "data" in the source is followed by numbers but output is not. Not sure what you want. Also there are no numbers to sum.

It is helpful and answers a lot of questions at a glance if you would upload an Excel sample spreadsheet file. Please do not post pictures or screenshots. Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED (bottom right of reply window) and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

This proposed solution assumes that the data is numeric, as well as assuming that I correctly understand what is being asked. If both of those is true, an array entered formula* that will yield the desired results is:

*Array entered formulas are activated by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error or a clearly incorrect answer.
