Hyperlink only links to sheet, not to specific cell referenced

Hello all,

Hope you guys can help as I can't dig out a solution elsewhere. I've been trying to link specific cells on one sheet to specific cells on another, so I can easily search a large bank of notes from a more cut-down sheet. However, for some reason, despite putting specific cell references in the hyperlink, the link only goes to A1 of the other sheet, rendering the whole exercise a bit pointless. I'm sure it's a simple fix, but how do I get they link to go to and highlight the cell I've actually referenced?

Try Insert > Hyperlink >Bookmorks (Rightside Top) > type the cell reference to which you want to give cell reference under "TYPE IN THE CELL REFERENCE:" > select the sheet

Failing that, please attach a small smaple file showing what you hope to achieve...

Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook? Please don't attach a picture of one.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
