Help with football points spread sheet formula please

Hi,
I am building a spread sheet for a football competition the guy's and I do at our local,
I am open to advice and suggestions as I'm only at the basic stage with excel, below is what I would like to happen in my sheet, any and all help is well appreciated.

The competition runs like this You get 2 points for a correct result eg. you predict the correct outcome or result of the match but it is not the exact score.
You get 5 points for a correct score eg. you predict the exact outcome of the match

Colum A is the teams playing that round
Colum B is home team match result
Colum C is away team match result
Colum D is home team prediction
Colum E is away team prediction
Colum F is correct result points and can only be 2 or blank
Colum G is correct score of match points and can only be 5 or blank

I would like the cells in F3 to F8 and G3 to G8 to poulate automatically with 2 points in colum F (result) and 5 points in colum G (score) lf conditions are met

If the condition is not met the cell is to be left blank.
The forumla needs to be able to move right for 32 players and down for 40 rounds.

Additionally I would like to populate a leauge table on the Table tab automatically with the number of scores and results and finally the total points for each player, see the table sheet for an example.

Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).

1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

I got tired of working on what I had been so your problem was kind of a welcome interruption. Besides, I'm hoping for some help from someone on a problem I have posted. Just giving back.

I think I've got the first part of your problem completely figured out and possibly the second part if you don't mind the results just tallying below the weekly results instead of on another sheet.

The sheet is locked, password is blank. While locked, you can't mess up and accidentally type info over formulas. The areas where you can change data are unlocked cells.

Here's my shot (hopefully with the correct sheet!!). I did take a few liberties with your data layout, but hopefully it delivers the same result in the end. There are quite a few formulae here. Most are fairly straightforward. However I'm happy to explain any that have you confused...
